Last Will and Testament of Bethiah Halleck Cole Vandenbark
In the Name of the Benevolent Father of All, Amen:
I, Bethiah Vandenbark of the Village of Dresden, County of Muskingum, and State of Ohio,
being of sound and disposing mind and memory, do make, publish and declare this my Last Will and Testament, hereby revoking and
making null and void all other last Wills and Testament by me made heretofore.
First--My Will is that all my just debts and general expenses shall be paid out of my
Estate, as soon after my decease as shall be found convenient.
Second--I give, devise and bequeath to my daughter, Susan Adams, my feather bed and
clock; to my son, Owen D. Vandenbark, my folding bed, and to my son Gershom Vandenbark my "secretary" (or better known as a
writing desk), and the balance of my household goods and furniture to be equally divided among my daughter Susan Adams and
my daughters-in-law Ada Vandenbark and Ida Vandenbark.
Third--I nominate and appoint Gershom Vandenbark as Executor of this will and testament
and that he so act without being required to give bond.
Fourth--I give, devise and bequeath the residue of my property both real and personal, of
whenever kind or character, to my three children, Gershom Vandenbark, Owen Vandenbark and Susan Adams, in the following manner,
to-wit: First, that Gershom Vandenbark shall be paid in full his mortgage and interest thereupon, now held against me, and
that then the balance remaining after said mortgage shall have been paid shall be divided equally, as follows:
One third part to my daughter Susan Adams: One third part to my son Owen D. Vandenbark
and one third part to my son Gershom Vandenbark.
Fifth--that the Executor herein shall have power to sell any part or all of the real estate
belonging to me to carry out my wishes as set forth in paragraph four (4) above, in case division or distribution thereof can not
be made agreeably to my children therein named.
In Testimony Whereof, I have set my hand to this, my Last Will and Testament, at Dresden,
Ohio, this 25th day of March in the year of our Lord, One Thousand Nine Hundred and Twelve.
